CRTEWU Hosts Research Seminar on the Preservation of Indigenous Knowledge
The Center for Research and Training at East West University (CRTEWU) successfully hosted a research seminar titled “Perceptions of Academic Librarians in Bangladesh Regarding the Preservation of Indigenous Knowledge” on November 7, 2024, in the CRTEWU Seminar Room at East West University (EWU). The seminar featured presentations by Mr. Abdur Rahman Sumon, a Senior Lecturer, and Mr. Raiyan bin Reza, a Lecturer, both from the Department of Information Studies at EWU. Their presentations addressed the critical issue of preserving indigenous knowledge and explored the perspectives of academic librarians in Bangladesh on this important topic.
Dr. Md. Roknuzzaman, a Professor in the Department of Information Science and Library Management at the University of Dhaka, presented as the main discussant, providing insightful commentary and valuable feedback. Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, a Member of the Board of Trustees at EWU and Chairperson of CRTEWU, presided over the seminar session. Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of East West University, shared his thoughts on the importance of the research seminar, which CRTEWU regularly organizes.
Professor Dr. Muhammed Shahriar Haque, the Executive Director of CRTEWU, delivered the introductory speech, emphasizing the significance of the topic and the contributions of the presenters. The seminar concluded with closing remarks from Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Rana, the Deputy Executive Director of CRTEWU.
