Workshop on ‘Mainstreaming Gender in International and National Climate Change Policy and Program’
East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT), in collaboration with UGC/World Bank funded sub-project: Knowledge Transfer and Capacity Development of Academic Staff, organized a half-day workshop on ‘Mainstreaming Gender in International and National Climate Change Policy and Program’ on March 28, 2016. This workshop focused on in-depth analysis of gender-climate interrelation that can better inform climate policy in Bangladesh as well as internationally with a focus to bring together researchers, policy makers and practitioners to share their experiences on linking gender and climate change in policies. Building on unique experiences, the workshop aimed to deconstruct popular assumptions about women’s vulnerability in relation to men’s by discussing how socio-economic factors determine men and women’s vulnerability to climate change.
