The Center for Research and Training East West University (CRTEWU) formally debuted in October 2004, however, it started its activities two years later after the formulation and adaptation of its charter by the East West University Board of Trustees (BoT) in 2006. It was established to promote academic and applied research for the creation and dissemination of new knowledge.
During the last decade (2007- June 2024), the Board of Trustees has allocated about Taka Fifty million to CRTEWU to support faculty research and training, publish research reports and journals, and sponsor seminars and workshops. CRTEWU established itself as the hub of the creation and dissemination of new knowledge by equipping the faculty to meet the challenges of the modern era's research and training needs.
New insights generated through research is necessary to meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution by facilitating knowledge-sharing. New knowledge will empirically inform policy dialogue on strengthening equitable and sustainable growth strategies, and contribute towards achieving the Social Development Goals (SDGs). Engaging in cutting-edge research will also improve the University's image and ranking.
