EWUCRT Arranges a Research Seminar

The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) hosted a research seminar titled “Hidden Struggles in Rising Tides: Exploring Women's Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights in Coastal Bangladesh During Disasters.” The seminar, held at the EWUCRT seminar room of East West University (EWU) on April 28, 2024, explored the challenges faced by women in coastal Bangladesh when it comes to sexual and reproductive health rights during natural disasters.

The presenters for the seminar were Ms. Nabila Farhin and Ms. Nadia Rahaman, both are Senior Lecturers in the Department of Law at East West University. Their presentations shed light on the unique vulnerabilities faced by women in these regions and the importance of ensuring their access to essential healthcare services during times of crisis. The main discussant of the seminar was Dr. Marzia Zaman Sultana, Senior Lecturer, Department of Social Relations of EWU. An interactive Q&A session followed the presentations, allowing attendees to engage with the researchers and reach deeper into the topic.

The seminar was conducted by Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury, Chairperson, EWUCRT. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Shahriar Haque, Executive Director, EWUCRT, has given the introductory speech on the occasion. Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Faculty Members, and Officials of EWUCRT of EWU attended the seminar.
